Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) allows residents to gain access to fresh produce, linking the consumer directly to the farmer. Here is how it works: A farmer offers a specified amount of "shares" to the public. By purchasing a share, a consumer receives a box (bag, basket) of seasonal produce that varies week by week during the growing season.
If you are interested in receiving high quality local produce weekly (some CSAs even offer to your door delivery!), check out the available community supported agriculture programs in Indianapolis.
The Local Growers Guild provides an updated list of Community Supported Agriculture Programs in Indianapolis and surrounding areas. Also check out the Going Local Website, which lists CSA information and short descriptions for each CSA.
