Have you ever been strolling down a street sidewalk or through your neighborhood and seen all the litter and trash. If every person would just pick up one piece of waste from a street side or the parks then our community would sparkle just a little more. Having a clean a tidy neighborhood and city brings pride to those that live there.  Pride in a community is very important.

Every year the City of Indianapolis in partnership with Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. join together in the spring to support The Great American Clean Up. In this one day event, Citizens come to the streets to pick up all the litter and trash that clouds our beautiful City.

This day is always very successful and becomes bigger and bigger each year but the city challenges you as an Indianapolis citizen to try to keep the litter from the streets. Next time you see a beverage container or empty chip bag on the streets pick up put it in the trash or recycling container.

Keep Indianapolis Beautiful's Great Indy Cleanup is a litter program designed to combat heavy litter and debris that has accumulated in public spaces such as streets, alleys, greenspaces and waterways.
